Ronald Fitzgerald

Ronald Fitzgerald, 77, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Walter Fitzgerald and Virginia Mae Shadwick Fitzgerald, was born November 5th, 1944, in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, January 20th, 2022, at his home, peacefully resting while listening to the Beach Boys.

He united in marriage to Barbra Ann Rafferty on July 1st, 1967, who preceded him in death on August 2nd, 2010. Ronald professed his faith in Jesus Christ as a young child and member of Temple Baptist Church, Owensboro, Kentucky, and became a Charter Member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple, Campbellsville, Kentucky. Before his retirement, Ronald was formerly employed by Campbellsville Industries, Inc., Cox Interior, Inc., and Tec-Fab, Inc., all of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Ronald is survived by two sons and one daughter:  Milton Douglas Fitzgerald and Wife Ann Michael of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kymberli Ann Fitzgerald of Campbellsville, Kentucky; and Walter Anderson Fitzgerald and Wife, Cindy Elizabeth, of Campbellsville, Kentucky. Eleven Grandchildren: Charles Weston Fitzgerald and Wife, Kayla Ruth of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Michael Nicole Bohlinger and Husband, Joseph Mark of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kristin Mackenzie McKinney and Husband, Jason Taylor of Greensburg, Kentucky; LaQuinta Beth Waldren and Husband, Sean Patrick Jr of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Benjamin McCoy Fitzgerald of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Austin Blaze Fitzgerald of Minot, North Dakota; Dason Alex Lawless of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Bryanna Chantel Fitzgerald of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Lexx Allen Lawless of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Caleb Aaron Lawless of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Rex Alexander Fitzgerald of Campbellsville, Kentucky.  Nine Great Grandchildren:  Clayton Scott Hicks, Jaxon Douglas Hicks, and Anson Jett Bohlinger, all of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kalli Marie McKinney, Jazlyn Taylor McKinney, Rylan Kade McKinney, and Declan Jase McKinney, all of Greensburg, Kentucky; Sean Patrick Waldren III and Luna Mae Waldren, both of Campbellsville, Kentucky. One Sister, Linda Sue Fitzgerald Crabtree and Husband, Roger Dale, of Owensboro, Kentucky. Two Sisters-in-Law:  Juanita Rafferty Ford and Husband, Donald Louis, and Mary Nell Rafferty Cox, both of Campbellsville, Kentucky. Several Nieces and Nephews and a host of other Relatives and Friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by two Brothers: Donald Fitzgerald and Barry Lee Fitzgerald, of Owensboro, Kentucky and two Brothers-in-Law; Benjamin Carroll Rafferty and Dannie Dale Cox, and one Sister-in-Law; Linda Joyce Winfrey, all of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Ronald will be remembered as a loving Husband and Father, but most importantly as a Man of Faith; having lived a life according to his favorite Bible verse. Second Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (KJV).

VISITATION: Saturday, January 29th, 2022, from 10am-11:30am EST at Campbellsville Baptist Temple, Campbellsville, Kentucky.

FUNERAL: Saturday, January 29th, 2022, at 11:30am EST at Campbellsville Baptist Temple, Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Brother Jase Divens, Pastor of Campbellsville Baptist Church will be officiating the service. 

 Burial to follow in Brookside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in form of donations toward The Susan G. Komen Foundation or Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.
