Campbellsville

Franklin Allen of Campbellsville, son of the late Milton Allen and Katherine Croft, was born on January 19, 1934 in Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

He departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his home in Campbellsville, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family.

Franklin is survived by his beloved wife Madeline Jean Nageli Allen.  They were united in marriage 68 years ago on November 22, 1953.

He served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War from 1954 – 1956.

Franklin worked and retired as a foreman after 44 years with Ingersoll Rand. During his career he was given a choice of locations and he chose Campbellsville, KY as their new home. He loved tinkering, woodworking, and repairing old cars in his spare time.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter: Paul Allen and wife, Gail, of Campbellsville; Tom Allen and wife, Kim, of Campbellsville; and, Katherine Allen Patterson of Rochester, New York; three grandchildren: Madeline Baleno and husband, Kevin, of Rochester, NY; Jake Patterson and wife, Michele, of Rochester, NY; Ann Allen of Campbellsville, KY; one great-grandchild: Ellie Rose Baleno; and, one sister: Kay Witter of Osceola, Pennsylvania; and many other relatives and friends.

The family wants to give a heartfelt thanks to all the HOSPARUS crew who helped them care for their father. Because of the level of care that was provided by this wonderful organization and its dedicated personnel, Franklin was able to remain in his home with his family.

The Allen family extends a very special thank you to Karen Corbin, Brenda Hicks, and Pat Simpson, whose professionalism, tender loving care, laughter, and friendship are valued beyond measure.

Franklin was preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Eldon Allen and Doris Farmelo.
